I don't normally give endorsements, but one product has really been a game changer this year: Sweet Mare Plus by Equine Science Solutions. Starting last year, Aeris was having some mare issues. "Wanted to let you know how well your Sweet Mare PLUS has worked for our Pure Spanish Andalusian mare, Helegeva! She was our broodmare for several years, and she was so sweet when she was pregnant but when we stopped breeding, she became very difficult to handle and was dangerous to ride for anyone other than the very experienced and brave. Since she had been so good when she was pregnant – so much so that we could tell within a few days if the insemination was successful just by the change in her demeanor – we decided to try Regumate, but it didn't really seem to help much. Finally, we discovered and started her on the Sweet Mare PLUS and she is a changed horse – she is easy to lead and handle, and easy to ride. She is no longer spooky, herd bound or strong willed. "ITS WORKING!!! The Sweet Mare PLUS is working!
Since her last terrible heat cycle, I have been giving her the mare formula once a day.
Three weeks ago when this started, my mare was screaming for a gelding and she was dangerous and uncontrollable to the point that I needed help handling her to get her back to her stall. She was suffering and obnoxious. Yesterday I went out and it was windy but I worked her doing ground work and she was mildly distracted which I thought was because of the wind. She did her best to do everything that I asked her to do and then we called it a day. It was VERY windy. She was very obedient.
Today I noticed she was fussy and even more distracted and seemed annoyed which is NOT like her. Anyway, she went along with the program and I got her groomed, lunged in the arena and rode her all over the arena. We had a good 45 min. ride and she settled down at the end and was an angel. She kept looking at the geldings in their turnout across from the arena in their own pastures but NO calling or screaming.
It did NOT occur to me that she was in heat!
Then when I took her back to the barn, the gal that works there said ALL the mares are in heat now and they are acting horrible. Wow, mine was not acting horrible, she was mildly distracted and fussy, that's all.
I totally see the Sweet Mare PLUS working, even though she has not been on it for very long at all. I expect it will help her even more the longer she is on it. I plan on keeping her on it FOREVER. I am definitely ordering it the end of the month. I do not want to run out of this!!!
